The release of "Parade Of Chaos" left me craving for more, but sadly i was disappointed to hear that Zao had split. So, you can imagine how happy and jubilant to hear that they had re-formed and were in the studio recording a new album.

"Funeral Of God" was worth the two year wait and sees the return of Daniel Weyandt to the Zao line-up. This album proves that probably the most influential Metalcore/Hardcore band are back and a force to be reckoned with.

It's an emotive album with a powerful message to all, even if you don't happen to be a Christian. As ever Zao's music is a reflection of their beliefs, but if you cannot appreciate their love for their religion, then surely you can appreciate the fact that these guys are all brilliant musicians.

Zao have become more melodic and have progressed onto a higher level with this excellent release. Dan's vocals are as intense and powerful as they have ever been, infact they may even be better. This album is almost faultless and should be considered as 2004's top release.

The only problem i have with this album is that Jesse Smith is no longer apart of the Zao line-up. He was by far my favourite drummer and one of the best, alongside Danny Carey.

I still believe that "Where Blood And Fire Bring Rest" is Zao's top release, but "Funeral Of God" isn't too far behind.

zao have been around and some say this is a sell out from their past work which i aint heard but if this is a sell out they must have been ungodly heavy as this rocks out of your speakers like satan in a bumper car,they are christian but they dont go on and on about our lord,zao are clever,this is one hell of an album,simply sublime,if heaven lets me listen to this when if i get there then i will be happy
