5.0 out of 5 stars Konica Minolta Z10, 24 Jan 2005
Having carefully considered many digital camera models currently on the market, including the Kodak DX6490, I opted for Minolta Z10. I did so on an impluse buy - I don't regret it. Despite only having 3.2 megapixels the zoom more than makes up for it. The quality of images is perfect. There is no pixilation with enlargements upto A4. (I have not tried anything any bigger yet). Being a keen photography student having a digital camera which would allow manual override was very important. However, the auto mode is also excellent for getting used to the camera and taking those family snap shots.

A must to buy are a SD memory card. I recommend the one Amazon sell. It's only about £10 for 128 MB. Additionally the Minolta carrying bag, also on Amazon priced at arounds £14. A bargain! One last, and possibly most important thing to buy, a skylight filter to protect that lens from scratches.

5.0 out of 5 stars Z10 Excelent camera, 29 Jun 2005
Having not bought a digital camera before I was a little unsure of what i needed. I read a up a few things and was going to go for the fuji s5000 but i spotted this one cheaper which had a good zoom so i decided to give it a try. I got on with the camera very well after a little reading up on the cd manual. To start with i used it in the auto mode which was dead easy and gave good results. Printing photos a4 size come out excelent when the camera is set to its best (which is what i keep it on). It is an unusual camera design but it feels comforable in the hand and is not to heavy. All buttons are in easy reach and are simple to understand. I use the lcd display at the back for taking photos apart from on really sunny days when it can be sometimes hard to see (but i think most cameras suffer this) so then i use the viewfinder above. I have had the camera 9 months now and have been finding more infomation on photography so have been using more of the manual settings which give you more control ie taking shots focusing close up on flowers and night photos of cars going past giving streaky car light effect which look excelent. The more you find out about photography and want to try with this camera you can. Then only things that could be improved is that the lense cover is not attached to the camera so have to keep putting in pocket and the camera does not come with a carry case (but you can pick up easily enough anywhere).I continue to enjoy using this camera and would recomend it especially as its cheaper now than when i bought it. 3.1m pixles is easily enough for upto a4 size, the zoom is excelent, very bright flash and easy to use camera with advanced functions if you choose to use them. Happy Shooting, say cheese!

5.0 out of 5 stars Konica Minolta Z10, 20 Sep 2005

I've had this camera for 10 months now and it's the best camera I have ever had. The picture quality is excellent with good tone and sharpness. It starts up really quickly, I have usually taken the picture whilst my wife is still waiting for her camera to charge the flash. I also really like the macro function, with the camera focusing at up to a centametre away from the subject. All in all, a great camera for the price.
