Product Description

Manufacturer's Description
Medieval Lords: Build, Defend, Expand challenges aspiring city governors to build and manage thriving cities, protect against invasions from neighbouring kingdoms, and expand into new territories--all in the city building genre's first 3D environment that lets the player zoom right into the action and build anywhere on the map.

Medieval Lords brings city builders inside the walls of richly-detailed cities during the middle ages. Through the course of ten scenarios, players must manage finances, population, and food resources to evolve towns into thriving kingdoms. Build docks for fishing local waters, harvest fields to grow food and raise livestock, keep citizens healthy and entertained, and recruit soldiers and cavalry for a well-defended city.

3.0 out of 5 stars Don't quite know what to think, 5 Jul 2005
After playing this game for a while I'm just not sure what to think. Its a good game, excellent scenery graphics, you could almost touch the water, but the people are blurred and fuzzy.
It has the same city building emphasis as Pharoah, build huts, give them what they want, huts get bigger. Only it combines it with the 'castle' building features of Stronghold. But unlike Stronghold (1 + 2) it does not concentrate on military units, battles are simply a case of deploying troops, and hoping you have enough. No tactics nothing.
The interface is unique, and the game is about as complex as Anno 1503, lots of buildings and co-dependant industry structures, and food structures. You could not simply launch yourself into this game, you need the tutorial first.
In all this is a good real Time Mediveal City Building Stratergy Game, it is thow pure city building, military tactics come second, which is a shame as this game had great potential, but they seem to have got bored half way through and thought, "we'll let the work experience kid finsh the game off".

3.0 out of 5 stars medieval lords, 1 April 2005
By roger (Bognor Regis.) - See all my reviews
Ok ok ok so this aint age of thingy, its not suppose to be,its a fun little game all of its own.speaking as a TOTAL WAR devotee I expect a lot from a game but I quite like this one. Its a bit quirky with a dungeon instead of a castle but hey you got sheep, cows, pigs and chickens and trying to keep the people happy is harder than Stronghold (5 star game) so give it a chance it might just grow on you.(speaking of stronghold, dos't that bloke keep saying "more wood needed" drive ya nuts!

2.0 out of 5 stars medievil borelords, 26 Nov 2004
this is an ok game in it's own right.
you build a city to get people to live there and make an army to get more land.the graphics are quite good as pc games go.

however this tries too hard to be age of empires that it fails to think about originality.

the tutorial is really confusing and numbers keep popping out of houses to tell you stuff.it is too much to keep up with!
the central hub of the city is the dungeon!? what is that all about.every house must be connected to it.

don't buy it, get age of empires 2 instead.

1.0 out of 5 stars crap in a box
This game is a disgrace. I only gave it one star because you can't pick zero stars. You start off with a dungeon and after that it lost me! Read more
