5.0 out of 5 stars Just how I remember it!, 22 Oct 2004
At last season 1 is finally released. The box sets have been released in reverse order! A cunning ploy to get you to buy them all if you purchased series 4 to start with! The tin is ideal, it fits all 4 series very well. There is even space to put your single disc 'Transformers The Movie'.
Re-live your youth, you know you want to, and what a theme tune!
Buy this now, retro cool at it's best!

4.0 out of 5 stars Not quite what I expected., 20 Oct 2004

The first season of transformers is great, i have no problem with that, but if you've been waiting for a really great box set of season one and you think this is it, you might want to pay the little extra and get the US box set with the free cells etc. This box is really cool, but it's merely just a big empty tin which allows space for the other three box sets aswell. It doesn't have any sort of lining inside it for a snug fit, it's simply tin.
Anyway, well worth the price at around half the cost of the US box set, and if you have plans on buying all the box sets over here (Which I do now), then this set is perfect for you. Just don't expect a reasonably sized tin casing that fits season one only. There's plenty of room in this thing and it looks rather bulky on your shelf.

3.0 out of 5 stars A blast from the past, 10 Jan 2005
By A Customer
All the episodes are there on dvd at last...but there are a few problems with it. No individual episode access from the main menu,(!) no subtitles, no extra languages. That kind of thing.

The show itself is significantly dumber to watch as a grown up. Every episode has multiple plot holes/annoying similarities.

Example, episode one. The autobots and decepticons battle in space and crashland on earth. 4 MILLION years later they are awakened. Yet whenever the decepticons contact Cybertron, everything is exactly the same. Shockwave is still there, waiting in the same control room, the decepticons are still critically low on energon cubes. Enjoy, but be warned.
