When I first heard this, I was totally blown away. Beautiful lo-fi pop with a real gift for melody. I don't really know how to describe the style of Things In Herds, its one of those things one must listen to and decide for themselves. Each song is generally based around a folky acoustic guitar part with Pete Lush's gorgeous, wavering vocals floating gently above. He manages to spice up the simple arrangements nicely with some beats, some synths, and the occasional theremin. Hm, I suppose one could say he sounds like Nick Drake mated with late-era Radiohead. Yes, that sounds about right to me. This is a stellar album. Don't miss it.
