Many people buy Albums to remember the real thing they may have seen at a Tour. In this case it was Josh Groban's Closer Tour.

However I came across this in a book store and was amazed at the depth and versatility of this album. Every single track stands on its own. Of course I came to this already with no resistance for well preformed violin music.

I know this album is about Lucia Micarelli however it was track 10 "She is Like The Swallow (featuring Leigh Nash)" that really sold me. However I do not prefer other Nash song styles. So it was this one combination that mesmerized me. I found the album in my bag before I realized what I had done.

Right after that is track 3 "Meditation form `Thais' (with Guest Artist Lang Lang)"

Everyone will find their own favorite.

After seeing Lucia performing on Josh Groban's DVD, I had to get this CD. Her passion in playing the violin surpasses everything I have seen and heard before. The CD was more than I expected with an excellent variety, including a Celtic vocal piece. This CD is really worth having.

Like the previous reviewer I also had the opportunity to see Lucia live when she supported Michael Ball on his recent tour. That was the first time that I'd heard of Lucia and she absolutely blew me away! I've always enjoyed classical music but I must admit violins have never been my favourite... until now. Lucia plays a mixture of modern & classical pieces with such honest enjoyment and enthusiasm and (this may sound corny) but she almost makes the instrument talk. What totally sold it for me was track 5 'To Love You More', I can't remember the last time I heard such a beautiful and haunting melody. Even if you aren't usually a big fan of violinists please, please take a moment to listen to the samples and I'm sure Lucia will change your mind!!
