If you want something which is funky and very very fresh, you can't go wrong with this album. I am astonished that it's not selling better, that it hasn't already been given five stars on here a hundred times already. Well, not astonished, but certainly disappointed. I blame the label.

Anyway, it's brilliant, I love it, and almost sickened myself with a surfeit of plays. 'I Like It When Ya...' (which seems to have got limited radio play on specialist shows) is brilliant, but it's just one of many brilliant tracks. My favourite is '23:59:59'. Stunning. Buy it. Go on...

Seeing as the other review was obviously written by somebody associated with the Loose Cannons, I thought I'd write an impartial review.

I first heard of Loose Cannons when a mate did me a copy of the Radio One show The Blue Room, in which the Loose Cannons were doing a live session of three of the tracks from this album - Superstars, Phone a Friend, and SOHO. They blew my mind! Sexy, funky, sleazy and totally danceable.

Hearing the album, the tracks sound more polished, but also less vibrant, as you'd expect from the differences with live and studio recordings. All the tracks are quality, though not necessarily ones that'd rock the party. N44 and Confessional are definitely more of a chilled out after-the-party track, and should be near the end of the album, but 23:59:59 doesn't do a bad job of closing the album at all! There are some seriously phat phloor phillers though - Almost on Fire, Out 4 The Nite, Superstars and the almighty Phone a Friend kick too much ass.

I can't really fault the album but I can't give it 5 stars as it's not something I could listen to all the time. But if you like it a bit jazzy, a lot funky, a hell of a lot sexy, you can't go far wrong.
