1.0 out of 5 stars a metal detector that cannot detect metal, 30 Jan 2009

This detector is too weak to detect metal - a 2p coin sitting above the ground elicits only the slightest response if any. Bury one very slightly under the soil and say good buy to your money as you will not find it again. If your kids have images of discovering lost roman coins don't disappoint them. And the sound it makes is seriously horrid.

1.0 out of 5 stars Can anyone recommend a decent metal detector, 8 Aug 2009
Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars Educational:1.0 out of 5 stars
I was going to buy the National Geographic metal detector but didn't because of the reviews. This toy should not have been released for sale. It can't even detect coins or any other metal under a tissue or cotton tea towel. It has no purpose. If anyone can recommend a decent metal detector, I would be grateful as we still need one.
