There's a plethora of weapons to choose from, a neat aiming system, the inventory works well, and levelling up with special skills is done in a very intuitive way. If I had to niggle about it, the physics engine does cause a bit of slowdown if there's a big explosion or something complex going on, and the verbal responses from the soldiers sound stereotyped and annoying, but you can turn those off.

I haven't yet played the bonus disc but can only assume it adds another few dozen hours on the replayability of this game. Perhaps it is the WW2 setting rather than Scifi which has put people off, but it's such a solid game that you should try it even if historical games aren't normally your thing.
