Synopsis
In this spoof of prehistoric times, a bunch of misfit cavemen who have been ousted from their various tribes band together and form their own. The gang embarks on various misadventures and in the process learns about walking upright, using tools, creating fire--and the true meaning of friendship. The film makes innovative use of pantomime, since the actors do not speak English, but instead speak a primitive language developed for the film.

What a superb film for entertainment !! I still wonder how the cast kept straight faces when filming this, and how much of the film was according to script (if there ever was one !).
The dinosaurs are super, with their little personalities, and the discoveries (music, roast chicken, fire, etc etc) are well presented.
A film of this calibre deserves a top position in your DVD collection !! Ignore anybody who says otherwise - they simply do no understand the purpose of entertainment.

This movie has many familiar faces that were just starting out at this time. Because there was not many words in pre-history there are more sight gags than one liners. Intriguingly many wore that "0ne Million B.C." fur bikini fashion.
I did not know that Shelley Long ...Tala (Outrageous Fortune) could talk until I saw Cheers. This is an educational movie; you get a glimpse of what life must have been with Macha the Tyrannosaurs Rex. And what happens in a near by ice age. There is a particularly well-done flagellant scene.

Everyone forgot to mention that there was only a hand full has made up words used in the whole movie. I originally saw this film at the movies and they handed out dictionaries.
