5.0 out of 5 stars Dragon Ball Z- Budokai 3 Buy It Now!!!, 10 Sep 2005
By S. Webster "Sam" (Norwich, UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Dragon Ball Z: Budokai, a series I feel is on par with the likes of Soul Calibur and even the mighty Tekken (which recently returned to form spectacularly)!

This game has more characters, moves and customisation in one battle than in the entirety of Tekken 5 or Soul Calibur 2, and I damn well mean it!

The battles take place on vast (remember, there's a difference between vast and empty) and interactive landscapes, and have an epic feel to them everytime! (Since when in Tekken or Soul Calibur could you dodge a giant fireball, teleport behind your suprised opponent, knock them through a mountain then throw a hundred explosions down on them? You can even destroy the planet you're fighting on!)

Fighting is fast and furious. Battles can turn around in mere moments, and the customisation of Skills makes for awesome startegic play as well! Even the most hardened of warriors are going to have a tough time against a Cooler equipped with the regenerative Cooler's Spaceship Capsule! (If you have no idea what I'm talking about- that's normal)

But when you finally unleash a Genki Dama/ Spirit Bomb on your opponent, using all your character's remaining Ki (energy) in a last ditch effort to defeat your enemy, destroying the face of the planet while you're at it, only to find that they have only just managed to survive and have their own Special Attack is where the true magic of the game comes in!

There's only one fighting game that demands your money more than this one, and that's Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 3- Collector's Edition! Buy it now!

5.0 out of 5 stars Crazy!, 5 Jun 2005
By A. Sumpton "mr-nose" (Absolutely Everywhere) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
If i was to sum up this one of a kind game in one word it would be 'crazy'. It has got to be the most addictive, fast paced beautiful and downright ballistic fighting game i have ever played! As i am a fan of Dragonball z i immediatly got into the game, the characters are all there, and they are all awesome. (My fav's being Vegeta and Perfect Cell)
The fighting in the game is exactly like that found in the cartoon, and it looks and feels great. All the special moves looks amazing and the ultimate attacks (The biggest attack i have found so far) are an absolute treat to watch.

This game is so fun and so mental that you will be laughing at the screen when you pull of a barrage of impossible attacks.

If you like DBZ go but it, right now. If you dont like DBZ then give it a rent.

Nose.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cool!!, 2 Jan 2005
By sk84life (Oxford, England) - See all my reviews
when i opened Dragonball Z Budokai 3 at christmas i really wanted to play it. and so i did. my first impression was "OH MY GOD!" it's a great game. you can teleport which rocks. you can enter something called hyper mode wich makes you really strong and can launch death moves e.g. spirit bomb. The new stroy mode is called DragonUniverse or DU. you can fly around and battle different openents. you have to complete it with different charecters to unlock new ones. you dont just complete with it with goku like before. after completeing it with 11 characters (Goku, kid gohan, teen gohan, Gohan, vegeta, picalo, krillen, yamcha, tien, Uub, broly) you unlock something called dragon arena wich means you can level up your charecters. if yo have Budokai 2 saved on you game you get capsules at the begining. there are also things called membership cards (silver - capsules, Gold - expensive capsules, Black -rare capsules, all capsules will then be available) which can make you get new skills at the skill shop! The only problems with the game in my opinion are:

dispute of charcters. People have been saying you can unlock super 17, baby, all the shenrons from dragonball gt. you only unlcok Omega shenron. You do not unlock the spice boys, Garlick jnr, pan, baby, super 17, all the shenrons, all the ginyu force. there is about 40 charecters. unlockables include:

Goku
Kid Goku (dragonball NOT GT)
Kid Gohan
Teen Gohan
Gohan (adult)
Vegeta
Trunks
kid Trunks
goten
Videl
Majin Buu
Super Buu
Kid Buu
Freiza (all forms)
Cell (all forms)
Cooler
Uub
Broly
Hercule/Mr. Satan
Captain Ginyu
Reecome
android 16
android 17
android 18
android 20/ Dr. Gero
krillen
Picalo
the great saiyaman
raditz
nappa
Omega Shenron
ss1-4 goku
SS1,2,4 Vegeta
Vegito (portara)
SS2 fusion Gogeta
SS4 fusion Gogeta
Fusion Gotenks

i think thats it. but all in all its a great game. to find out how to unlock any of these people visit www.cheatplanet.com. (some of the descriptions arnt to helpful) there is no actual cheats e.g. capsule cheat like in budokai 2, to my knowledge.
i would say its a great game, mutch better than the first 2.
