Firstly this film isnt really called Cannibal Ferox 2..this is just a shameless cash in and just made up by Vipco for the u.k release. It has nothing at all to do with the Cannibal Ferox at all so don't buy into it!

The more common title is "Massacre in the valley of the dinosaurs" and the u.s version on shreik show is better than the u.k edition as it features a much better transfer and has some good features.

Well if you've seen the likes of cannibal ferox, cannibal holocaust, deep river savages,Last cannibal world etc then you know what to expect to some degree but i would say that this falls more into a standard action adventure jungle romp (like romancing the stone, indiana jones etc) but with some horror elements thrown in every now and then. Made by italians and shot in location in Brazil with mostly brazillian actors save for American actor Michael Sipkow, it whisks by in a pacy 90 mins. The acting and dubbing of course is atrocious in places and it looks low budget generally, but this film won't leave you bored and there are far worse cannibal/jungle films around than this.

Worth a pick up on the cheap..any cannibal/jungle fan will prob find something here to like.

A low budget cross between Indiana Jones and Cannibal Ferox, this is just direct to video nonsense that seems to have found a whole new audience thanks to DVD and re-releases of long lost 80's horror.
Michael Sopkiw[who also starred in the Mad Max rip-off 2019 After the Fall of New York]plays a young palenontologist who hitches an aeroplane ride deep into the Amazon jungle with a cast of badly dubbed europeans.
When the plane crashes in freak turbulance[possibly the worst plane crash in movie history, just check out that model]the survivors are left to fend for them selves against everything you would expect from a cheesey jungle adventure such as piranhas, leeches, quicksand and not forgetting cannibals.
Direction and plot are inept at best and apart from Sopkiw its a cast of amateurs not helped by a awful script.
As is to be expected there is a fair bit of gore from piranha bites to cannibalism but it is far less extreme than say Cannibal Ferox or Holocaust and thanks to some badly mis-timed comedic moments and bad 80's disco music its hard to feel to repulsed by the proceedings.
On a plus point its fairly entertaining if your in the right mood with plenty of crowd pleasing nudity.
Shriek Shows uncut DVD presents the movie in anamorphic 1.85:1 and for the most part looks fine with plenty of detail and good colour although some night scenes look a little dark and grainy.Sound is an English dub in mono that lacks detail but is quite punchy.
Extras consist of a feature length commantary and interview with Sopkiw. He obviously didnt have that good a memory of the movie as both of these are pretty bland and cover the same ground. There is also a short interview with director Tarantini in Italian with English subs.

Archaeologist Kevin Hall hitches a ride on professor Ibanez's flight to Dinosaur Valley in search of very rare fossils but before they get there the plane crashes due to some very high turbulence. After the crash which leaves three people dead, the remaining six survivors head to civilisation lead by power mad Vietnam war veteran Captain Heinz but on the way they have to battle through killer Piranhas, Cannibals, and murderous slave traders.

This film was also released as Cannibal Ferox 2 but that title doesn't really suit the film as there is only one very small scene that involves Cannibals and they are out of the film pretty quickly. The film is actually not that violent at all and the sex scenes are also very mild even by the standards of when it was made in the 1980's so I was surprised to find that it had been banned.

Director Michele Massimo Tarantini is clearly not the best at story telling. At the beginning of the film he handles a bar room brawl in a stupid comic style. Another poor part of his directing is when one of the survivors of the plane crash has just been killed by some Piranhas and the Kevin Hall and Captain Heinz character end up fighting and jumping around in the exact water that man was just killed in.

Acting wise the film is pretty poor and B-Movie star Michael Sopkiw is not as good as usual and the supporting casts dubbed dialogue is unintentionally funny. Andy Silas who plays China, the leader of the Slave traders is a typical pantomime villain and everyone pronounces his name as Cheena which I found amusing.

This is one of the later cannibal films and does not have as much of an authentic feel to it. It also has an action / adventure element to it with an action hero played by Michael Sopkiw, who plays the part well but the rest of the cast are poor actors. It is a very 80′s film with more of a glossy feel to it than it's predecessors and contains a fair bit of nudity. It's a no brain type movie and is not a bad way to waste an hour and half. The Shriek Show region 1 dvd is uncut and looks great.

HASH(0x7fea89a8) out of 5 stars More Italian exploitation... 21 Sept. 2004
By W. Black - Published on Amazon.com
Format: DVD
Massacre in Dino Valley is a special blend of the cannibal and boy's adventure (?!?) genres that shouldn't be missed by fans of Italian exploitation. It's lighter in the gore department than most spaghetti cannibal shockers (and thankfully there's no real life animal mutilation), but it pours on the sex and nudity. We have several rapes (one of which is a nasty lesbian rape that seems pulled straight out of a WIP movie) and a fifteen minute or so stretch when the two main actresses simply stop wearing clothes--that's right, they parade around the jungle nekkid!!! They even paddle around in a canoe with leading man Michael Sopkiw while topless. There's also a crazed Vietnam vet who looks like a poor man's Bo Svenson. There's also a visual Django reference, one goofy fight scene with absurd sound effects, one crazy Italian-style brawl that looks as if it were choreographed by blind midgets, and lots of shooting--and Sopkiw has a sawed-off pump shotgun that looks really fly. Worth owning.

HASH(0x7fea89fc) out of 5 stars Quite a Gem 9 July 2006
By Amazon Customer - Published on Amazon.com

I've seen bad movies in my life and time. I mean really bad stinkers. Some movies you love because they are bad, some movies you want to slam your head against the wall (in comparison to having to watch the movie again). After watching Massacre in Dinosaur Valley and then watching the interview with Michael Sopkiw, I have to say this is a true jewel of a movie--the movie is bad in all the good ways. The action hero of this film, Michael Sopkiw, is someone you enjoy watching moving around, beating the bad guys up, and winning the girls. The women, mind you, are very lovely indeed. The story itself is not really there. I mean really...look at the title of the movie. You watch this kind of film for the pure mindnumbing adventure that leaves you wanting to watch it again and again. The movie itself has a bit of everything. Not really a "Cannibal Inferno" like the label on the DVD case speaks of, I'd say the "cannibal" portion is ... ah...maybe twenty or so minutes (give or take). The movie is really a bit of vignettes--one small story after the next wrapped around a plane crash and a need to get out of the jungles. All in all, I really think that if you enjoy really bad adventure movies, if you are the kind of chap or lass who enjoys watching goofy t&a, good fight scenes where the good guy pulls off the fight against the bad guys at the very end, then you'll enjoy watching this Michael Sopkiw film.

HASH(0x7fea8e34) out of 5 stars Yes, this is exactly what a B-movie should be! 12 Jun. 2007

I got this flick as part of a three-pack and wasn't sure what to expect. What a pleasant surprise! Suzanne Carvalho running around in the jungle topless, bondage, kinkiness, girls in peril, fisticuffs, explosions, shooting, Suzanne Carvalho, smart-aleck humor, and Suzanne Carvalho. Too bad she didn't make more flicks.

HASH(0x7ff4d21c) out of 5 stars Into the Jungle! 11 Jun. 2007
By Timedrifter - Published on Amazon.com
Format: DVD
As with Suzanne Carvalho's other films, this movie is a pure gem. It may be an imported film, but it has a great storyline. The movie tells the tale of a group of people who are interested in visiting Dinosaur Valley,an ancient and exciting jungle. However, the trip becomes a fight for survival as the plane goes down and the survivors must fight for their lives. The deaths are gruesome and the fights are breathtaking, and the special effects are worth every penny. The characters are great, and the action is exciting. It all leads to a deadly showdown between the final survivors and a group of cannibals who want to offer up the women for sacrifice. Gunshots and arrows clash, and many people are killed. This movie is a great Brazillian hit and you'll love it.

HASH(0x7ff4d300) out of 5 stars Good Jungle Sleaze! 26 Nov. 2007
By Kevin Brock - Published on Amazon.com

If your a fan of foreign cannibal exploitation horror than you may very well enjoy this movie. This "Massacre in Dinosaur Valley" was also known as "Cannibal Ferrox 2". It is actually alot better than "Cannibal Ferrox" but not quite as good as "Cannibal Holocaust". It is, of course, poorly dubbed and poorly acted as are most movies of this genre. And it suffers from poor pacing. However, it offers up plenty of cheesy gore, a very cheesy male lead, and plenty of wanton violence and nudity. It also offers the 3 sexiest female leads ever seen in any cannibal movie. Suzane Carvalho in particular is a real treat. Its no wonder the cannibals and perverts of Dinosaur Island can't keep their hands off her..
