When boiled down to the basic info (a couple of esoteric tracks by strange Icelanders, remixed by a bunch of obscure Germans), this CD hardly sounds very tempting. Certainly on the first listen, I almost threw the disc away. Nothing particularly humm-able, lyrics in mumbled icelandic at best, and a couple of the remixes barely counted as music.

And yet, there was somthing. A few days later I tried again. And next day again, and now there's barely a I don't listen to at least one track of it. The remixes are all worthwhile, retaining some of the primitive charm of the originals, yet exploring a different aspect of the source.

It's an odd mix of rhythms, beats, organic sounds, simplicity and sparseness. If the opening of the last track doesn't send a shiver up your spine, well, I don't want to know you. It's not a CD that everyone will appreciate, but a lucky few will find it gorgeous.
