5.0 out of 5 stars Eclectic. Expansive. Excellent., 13 Jul 2004
By D. Gilman "Dave Gilman" (UK) - See all my reviews

The Freestylers are never ones to shy away from experimentation - listening to some of the tracks on 2002 release "Pressure Point" (e.g. Now Is The Time compared to Weekend Song) made you wonder if this wasn't a collection of songs rather than the same artist! This latest offering is, if anything, even better. So many diverse styles hit you from all sides, you can feel exhausted after a while with this one! Includes the massive single "Push Up", which even if you don't think you've heard it, trust me, you have! A great album from a band that are criminally ignored by the populous - but given their flair for experimentation, maybe we should be thankful for that!

5.0 out of 5 stars The new Prodigy, 27 Sep 2004
Wow-this album is definately Raw as F£$K. With the serious let down from the Prodigy, The Freestylers have earnt their stripes and given the serious music lovers a force not to be reckoned with. The tracks range with diversity mixing Ragga with electronica and funky house. I am extremely critical over my appreciation with music and it annoys me that this C.D is not top of the charts. I hate wicked underground music going commercial but The Freestylers deserve to as like the Prodigy, they excel in making music that every one hypes to.

WELCOME THE NEW FAT OF THE LANDS!!!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Is the best album of the year?, 23 Sep 2004
Not to be confused with Bomfunk Mcs (of dubious "Freestyler" single fame), the Freestylers are an insanely talented, insanely ignored collective. This album contains tracks ranging from dark dnb (Punks) to ragga (Dogs and Sledges) to disco fantastic (Push Up). The range of styles is incredible, each track is a winner and they sound good played one after another! I thought We Rock Hard (basically an excellent breakbeat album with heavy hiphop influences and the awesome Tenor Fly) and Pressure Point (a more varied party album) would be hard to top but the Freestylers have managed to exceed expectations with another stealth album. My only regret is a lack of Tenor Fly. His stage performance got me hooked on the Freestylers.

I've got the feeling that this is the album Liam Howlett would have loved to have made as Always Outnumbered Never Outgunned.

1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible
This album is so dated. I can't believe that anybody ever liked it. The MCs are full of attitude but no substance and the beats are monotonous and uninspired. Read more

Wicked remixes of an already great album, if you have the original you MUST get this in.
