Product Description

CD Description

Second album from Ruff Ryders member and former Lox member Jadakiss. Produced by the likes of The Neptunes, Swizz Beatz, and The Alchemist to name but a few, the album features Jada's rough rap vocals over slick urban hip hop beats. Guest vocals come from a whole host of US hip hop stars including Kanye West, Snoop Dogg, and Pharrell Williams.

4.0 out of 5 stars Jadakiss steps up his game even further, 7 Jul 2004
Often over-shadowed by his New York counterparts Nas and Jay-Z, Jadakiss is not one of the most popular and regularly-played rap artists in the United States. However, this album is likely to outsell hs previous discs by the shedloads due to the all-star guest appearences from multi-million selling superstars such as Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Pharrel, Nate Dogg and Kanye West. Despite having obvious effects on the amount of records that will be sold, this should have been a recipe for disaster for Jada, because the talents of his guest appearers look to be too much for him to live up to, but his tight lyrical flow on a much deeper and more personal album makes sure that he is not out-shined. Jadakiss wants to make the world stand up and notice that he's about to take over, and he manages to do this by rhyming just as well as Em, Snoop, Pharrel and co. However, don't prepare yourselves for the takeover just yet, because despite living up to the rest, he perhaps shouldn't have collaborated with Kanye West, as he too is a rapper wanting to get heard and manages to outshine Jada on the track 'Getting It In', plus he makes a terrible screeching noise at the start of every track that i don't think listeners will put up with for much longer. On the whole though this is a fantastic effort from an artist who one day will find himself near the top of the tree if he follows in the footsteps of some of the tightest joints on the CD, such as 'Why', 'Time's Up', and his gun-infested collaboration with home-boy Styles P. Watch this space - Jada will take over!

3.0 out of 5 stars HMMM, 3 April 2006
By tracy (scotland) - See all my reviews
after reading the reviews from others on this album im starting to wonder if i was hearing the same album, i bought this album a while ago and was quite disappointed. i know its a matter of opinion i suppose. fave songs on the album is by your side. i just find his lycrics slightly dull and after about 4 songs i was bored. this surprised me as the production and features on the album are big names in music.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hot!!!!!!!, 21 Nov 2004
This is by far one of the best Hip-Hop albums I have ever bought, some blazin tracks including "Welcome to D-Block" with eminem sheek louch and styles P. Appearances from nate and kanye west. Hot beats from kanye west and scott storch. This album has aspects of the hardcore underground hip hop, but with a lot of commercial. Still an excellent album. Buy It! You wont be disappointed.
