Earthspan is one of the two finest British acid tinged folk albums of all time (the other being fantasia lindum) - the egos of the 2 members had diasappeared with their scientology; they allowed Le Maistre and Licky to write songs (and what marvellous songs too ; tracks 1 and 4 are simply perfect)- the whole album has a totally 'salty' feel- British folk music about the sea- this album has recieved mixed reviews from day one- I have worn out a vinyl copy and am well on the way to doing so with the cd- buy it, borrow, whatever, but listen to it- give it 3 listens though. ISB albums in order; EARTHSPAN; LIQUID ACROBAT; HANGMANS; 5000 SPIRITS; BIG HUGE; SILKEN TWINE; ISB; WEE TAM, then the other CD in this offering; No Ruinous feud- the 2nd CD is OK, 'jigs' is great, 'turquoise blue' is totally beautiful and worth ther purchase price alone- 'circus girl' must be the worst ISB song of all time, so, a mixed bag is CD 2. But do not let this detract from CD1 'EARTHSPAN' under-rated and perfect- open a bottle of red wine- turn off the lights and let your heartbeat go down to 33bpm.
