    I was on the lookout for a new digital camera as my dad wished to buy my old digital camera from me to try out digital photography. I spotted this HP R707 in a local store and was amazed at how classy and stylish it looked. It was a very good compact size and sat very comfortably in my hand. The brushed steel on the front of the camera is a very attractive design feature and oozes quality. This theme continues when once you start using it too. I have been amazed at the stunning picture quality this camera takes and at how easy it is to use. Another excellent plus point is the battery life. My old camera (HP215) used to get through 4 AA batteries in a very short time-not lasting more than 20-30 pics. Whereas this HP R707 is still on its first charge and i have taken 70-80 pictures so far and its only down to half-charge! I also bought this cam from Amazon in the end as they couldn't be beaton on price anywhere. Overall a thoroughly recommended product.

    Basially for just a little over £200 you cant go any better than buying this camera. Full of featuers and just ready for action within a matter of seconds, the camera bosts a ergonomic design which is very evident when holding for long periods of time.
    The TFT screen is very easy to see even in bright outdoor light, and all the navigation and zoom buttons are exellent. The camera is 5.1 MP but this can be manually changed to suit your needs, using the digital zoom the on screen display shows what pixel rating you are are. With a total of 24X zoom i can get close up to something even when its upto 40 meters away which is very handy, and still in a respectable 2MP resoulution.

    The camera comes with a rechargable battery and ac adapter to charge with, i think this is a big bonus to this camera over others which would go through batteries within a matter of minutes. Once charged for the first time, around 6 hours to charge fully, the camera has worked for a full days usuage and is still going without snaging. This is with the screen in constant use.

    The camera also included a respectable 32MB of internal memory, however i strongly reccomend that you purchase a 128MB SD card which are now under £20 from Amazon. This will let the full featuers of the camera loose, including continous video and sound, with around 11:00 of video on 1 128MB SD card.

    The camera comes supplied with HP software, and Arcsoft panaroma maker, both for PC and MAC which is very unusual today. The box then contains 1 USB lead to carry images to a PRINTER and a further one to carry images to a PC or MAC. Also included in the box are the Wrist strap, battery, charger, manual, leaflets and software.

    I would reccomend this camera to anyone, not just for its looks but for its featuers and for its price. It is also worth investing in a R series dock, as these are useful for charging quickly without fiddling with wires.

    Previous HP cameras have been rather cumbersome, both in size and ease of use, but the R707 is a masterpiece. The small (almost tiny) body holds a hefty 5.1MP with 3x optical zoom, a beautifully sharp LCD screen, 32MB internal memory with room for the memory card of your choice (recommended) and, most importantly of all, a superb lens. The camera is fully automatic but the beautifully intuitive menu allows manual control of just about everything you want, making this an ideal camera both for the serious photographer and the discerning 'snapper'.
    The battery on its own deserves mention. I have had some digital cameras that eat batteries like they're going out of fashion. The lithium-ion battery of the R707 seems to last forever, and a spare comes as standard.
    For completion I'd recommend the docking station - it makes download and battery recharging automatic, but the camera comes with a complete set of cables for any situation.
    Occasionally I fall in love with a piece of equipment, it's just so 'right'. This camera is my latest love.
