I am really surprised by the two bad reviews. Their biggest grip seems to be the graphics witch are 2D and they apparently haven't played it a lot.
This games is actually one of the best RTS games out there. You have huge maps and no limits of troops (which is the reason why there's no 3D as you have so many troops)...this is a game for tacticians. Focus is not so much on source gathering (there's only food and gold) and no building (you can only repair buildings). The focus of this game are TACTICS (Protecting supplying routes, choosing witch village or city to attack...)

This is an awesome game...try the demo if you're not sure.

It's my favourite RTS game.

In how many games can you lead Hannibals armies and crush the romans at Cannae?

Stay away from this one.Both the play and the interface are poor.The original reviews of the game said you had a choice of 2D or 3D "effects".Effect's,I don't think so.This review allows 1000 words.I'm surprised Amazon actualy stock it.The rating system insists that I give at least 1 star.Isuggest that 0 is added!!

I agree with the description that it is a fantastic game for tacticians. People should not demand to see spectacular battles from games such as this. This game is designed to offer the player opportunity to use his tactical and organisational skills.
It requires patience and is time consuming but worths it. I would reccomend it for players that seek for the pleasure of controling many different aspects in a game rather than just battle mode. I believe that Punic Wars is excellent game for its kind and I rate it 5 stars.
