I bought this CD because of the Steve Morse connection (probably the finest guitar player on the planet!)Two of the band had played with Ozzy Osbourne and Randy Rhoads and formed this lineup to re-record some of the material they had done in the eighties and to add some new tunes. The resultant mix is interesting, eminently listenable and should appeal to a wider audience than the stereotypical hard rock fan it is probably aimed at.
The re-recorded versions are better than the originals in my book (but then, I never could see the appeal of Mr. Ozbourne) and Steve's guitar playing is sharp, sassy and perfectly suited to the project. Once again he has successfully found another platform to showcase his undoubted genius.
The album is probably best summed up as AC~DC meets Deep Purple and it is growing on me with every listen.
