5.0 out of 5 stars Switch off, kick back, 28 Jun 2004
By Colin Carter (Coventry, West Midlands United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
Wow, that sums up this album! Even if you are not a Coutry-file I can truly recommend this as a great kick back and enjoy album that makes you feel good from the very start. Also included is a very special duet with Jimmy Buffett, go any buy it now!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Of Alan Jackson - perhaps?, 28 Jun 2004
By R. Dales-coupland (United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Should you be an established fan of Alans' work or a relative newcomer to this genre, there is surely something here for all to enjoy. 'Gone Country' opens the album, anthemic in the way it demands that you give it your closest attention and once hooked you are propelled into 'Drive', a bittersweet song of close relationships between a father and his son. 'Where were you (When The World Stopped Turning) is perhaps the most poignant reminder of that fateful day in New York. For me, Jackson words will haunt many as those images surely will. The album portrays all aspects of his fine works, you cannot fail to be 'grabbed' by the energetic 'Chattahoochee' with perhaps some of the finest 'new' country instrumentation you are likely to hear - it's damn good to dance to, also! In brief, the album is surely a showcase of an immense and sincere talent and despite being largely a 'compilation' it should become a classic.

3.0 out of 5 stars The Best Of The Greatest Hits, 7 Oct 2004
By Mary Nisbet (Scotland) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This cd would be so much better if it weren't for the fact every song on it was on one of the two Greatest Hits albums that Alan Jackson already has out - and this "Very Best Of" even has the nerve to use an image from the Greatest Hits II cd as its front cover!!
I'm not knocking his music, he is great, but to expect anyone to buy this less than a year after the Greatest Hits II was released is a rip off
