A superb DVD issue from Phillips, with top soloists, choir and orchestras. The coupling of Orff and Beethoven works well as both are large-scale choral works. I used to watch the Carmina Burana on VHS and I am really delighted that this has been re-issued on DVD. Kathleen Battle's contibution in Carmina Burana is simply put - amazing! This is how I became hooked on her all those years ago.
