    What a cracking little camera! I was looking for a replacement for my ageing Fuji fixed lens camera, and ideally wanted an optical zoom of at least 3X plus at least 3 mp resolution. Having searched the web extensively I had almost given up hope of finding anything for the budget I had in mind (around £100) when this little gem cropped up. It was in the current Argos catalogue at £229 although reduced to £179 on their web site, and a Kelkoo search returned a 'lowest price' of £149 so I thought £99.99 has got to be a bargain - and wasn't it just! I tried a couple of pictures in the garden and the colour reproduction and clarity of the results was amazing. Even when I printed the pictures out using a mediocre inkjet printer (which had produced mediocre results from the Fuji) the results were much better than I could have hoped for. Couple of things to be aware of though - you WILL need a SD memory card for the camera - I bought a 256mb card which will hold around 350 images at a resolution of just below maximum - and it EATS batteries. The supplied Alkaline cells were dead within the first day of just 'playing' with the camera, so invest in a good set of NiMh rechargeables - at least 2000 mah. Other than this, this camera represents excellent value for money - highly recommended!

    Stunning value for money. This camera is lightweight, compact and has a quality 3megapixel sensor, plus a 3x optical zoom lens. It's based on the earlier 33L - but unlike that model it has an optical viewfinder in addition to the swivelling LCD display. Picture quality is excellent - as you would expect from Pentax.
    At under £100, this camera is simply the best value around at the moment.

    If, like me, you are severely lacking in the photographic talent department, I recommend buying a digital camera. For years I have been plagued with photographs with my finger appearing across the lens, tops of heads cut off, out of focus shots and other generally rubbish photos. It was time to go digital. Looking round on the internet there is a bewildering array of digital cameras on the market each of them claiming to be better than the rest. Seeing the Optio 33LF advertised on Amazon seemed too good to be true, so I consulted with a knowledgeable relative who advised me that this would be an excellent camera at an unbeatable price. I have not been disappointed. The Optio 33LF is an extremely easy camera to use with a well-presented and easy to follow instruction manual. The swivelling LCD screen is brilliant, allowing you to see how your photo will appear as you take it, and any photos you are not happy with can be deleted before you decide to download or print them. I am also impressed by the quality of the photographs; I expected a camera of 3.2 megapixels to produce a slightly inferior picture quality but this is not the case. I have taken photos on both the standard "aim and fire" mode and also close-up using the macro facility and have been amazed by the clarity and detail of the pictures. The zoom lens seems to be an added bonus - not all cameras on the market appear to include an optical zoom - the result? Grainy pictures produced by the reliance on the digital zoom. All things considered, this is a fantastic camera at an amazing price, I can't recommend it highly enough.
