These films were enjoyable. But even though I only finished watching the third film less than a minute ago, it's the only thing I can remember about them and all that I choose to recall.

The acting was good. The script was an excellent adaptation of Tolkien's original trilogy and the CGI really helped to create a world or Orcs and Elves. But in the end, nothing ever truly grabbed me or stayed with me for more than ten minutes after it appeared on screen.

All three of the films washed over me like a pleasant but ambivalent mist. And the only reason why I even bothered to watch the last two films was that it seemed wrong not to watch all three parts of a trilogy at least once.

Now that I have of course, I can happily sell them; safe in the knowledge that I will never want to watch any of them again. And the next time that I have nine hours to kill, I can use the time to do something constructive like painting or learning Japanese.
