This is an excellent budget priced DVD player, ultra slim and compact this stylish player would not be out of place in anybodies living room or bedroom. Picture quality is good and the player has all the functions you would expect.

It plays DVD's (obviously) music CD's, photoDVD's and MP3 CD's. It is compatable with DVD-R's (+/-) and CD-R's. There is no display on the player itself,it is all done via the onscreen display. The remote control is rather bulky but still easy to use.

This is my second Alba player and I would not hesitate in reccomending it to anyone.

If you are looking for a cheap but good quality player, then this is the one for you. fantastic value for money.

I don't know how long the other reviewers had their DVD player before writing their review, but I would have agreed with them until about a week ago. I've had my player for approx 6 or 7 weeks. About last week, the screen image (whether playing films or music discs) started to go crazy. Watching it would make you dizzy! I emailed Amazon for any suggestions and they helpfully gave me the email address for Alba. Or so I thought. When I used it, back came the reply "sorry love, we sell bricks, not DVD players"!! Anyway, I'm giving up and returning the player to Amazon. It's the first time I've had to return anything I've bought so it hasn't put me off shopping with them.

I wrote the review about the difficulty of finding out whether it is multi-region compatible. I would just like to say that it is, or at least, it certainly plays region 1 DVDs (I haven't tried any number bigger than 2).
It was a pain trying to get the information about how to get it to play other regions (especially from Alba. Amazon was helpful but it took a while to work out how to contact them)!
The users' guide made absolutely no sense whatsoever to me, and seems designed for people who already understand DVD players.
I just would like to clarify that it is multi-region capable, despite Alba's frantic attempts to persuade customers that it is not.

Within a month of purchase this unit became noisy and played half the DVD's. Finally, it just didn't work at all. Atleast it was cheap.
