Watch digital TV and listen to digital radio on your TV. With DEC-1000-t on your TV, you can receive digital television and radio with perfect picture and audio quality. In addition, you can receive digital text transmitted along with the digital terrestrial signal. There is no need for monthly subscriptions, you just pay a one off fee for the DEC-1000-t and you are ready to view Digital TV channels. You can use the DEC-1000-t as a set-top-box for your television set. You can connect the DEC-1000-t using the supplied SCART cable into your TV or VCR SCART. If your television is not equipped with a SCART, you can use the supplied RF cable to connect to televisions RF input. With digital teletext you have a source of information at your fingertips. Unlike the analogue teletext service, you can interact with channels that support interactive features. For example, if you are watching the match, you can see statistics such as Match highlights, Match statistics and scores. Digital teletext is more colorful and quicker to navigate.

    OK, so it's silver not gold but take care with this one. I have just returned two sets. After failing to install the set myself I paid for a professional installer. He came to the same conclusion as myself, which is that it is fine if you are not using a VCR. If you do want to connect it to a VCR it is flaky and very user unfriendly - if not impossible. The second set came with the top on back to front, which made me wonder about build quality. Technical help available but help line very busy.

    This was the first and only digital set top box I've had so far. The installation was quite simple although the clarity of the instruction leaflet left something to be desired. I've just tried hooking up a VHS recorder to the set but picture quality suffers tremendously so can't really use it. Also the box "freezes" quite often though I've heard from other people that it's not that uncommon with other models either.
