Maria Rita has got music in her veins, she is simply the daughter of Elis Regina, considered the best Brazilian female singer ever, and Cesar Camargo Mariano, Brazilian musician and producer, and her two brothers are into music as well. She's been continuously praised by Brazilian critics and was the musical phenomenum of the country last year. If you are familiar to Elis' voice it will give you goose bumps but the more you listen to it the more you will understand that Maria's voice is also unique, emotional, soft and precise. The record brings a good fusion of Brazilian and Latin American sounds but it has this fresh and pop appeal to it as well, so it is nearly impossible to not fall for it. A good sample of new Brazilian Popular Music, worth a try, definitely. I love it.

This woman has a sensational voice, fantastic small-group jazz arrangements. Melodies so sweet, passion, excitement, beautiful Portuguese words. She is a sensation. Numbers by Milton Nascimento.
