Why Naxos decided to jazz up this CD release by putting it in an eye-catching card slipcase is beyond me. Unfortunately this version of Walton's great choral piece is spoilt by the odd balances in the recording.

Whilst the orchestra sounds good, the choir sounds as it is singing from the pub next door, which might have been more interesting.

Not recommended!
