5.0 out of 5 stars A worthy GITS game, 11 May 2005
After all the bad press that the media gave this game, I was expecting a big disappointment when I rented this game. In fact, I loved it so much I decided to but it not long afterwards.
The game centers around a Fuchikoma tank, which most GITS fans will remember from the manga. It's an insect-like tank piloted by one person.
In this, you play through numerous missions as a Fuchikoma piloted, I assume, by the lovely Major Motoko Kusanagi. Most fans will remember some shootouts in this game. The natural history museum, like.
In the Fuchikoma, you can climb up walls, over ceilings... basically complete freedom of movement. This comes in handy when facing some of the impossibly hard bosses later on in the game. And I mean impossibly hard. You'll need many many tries to defeat them. But that's only to be expected. The developers want to give you the feel that just because you are kitted out in the latest technology of the future doesn't make you immortal.

All in all, worthy of 6 stars. But it'll have to go with 5.
