Nelly Furtado's latest single offering "Try" it's exactly what a music lover could look for: a beautiful ballad with perfect melody and a sweet voice.
What it turns to be a shame is that the single was very undersold. Released this week, I expected it could reach a very well deserved Top Ten position to repair the damage when her previous single "Powerless (Say What You Want)" (an excellent song) made a disappointing No.13. Not only this single didn't make Top Ten, it couldn't make better than its predeccessor and stalled at No.15 this week.
Maybe you people keep buying crap like Usher (who made No.1 this week), but you'll never deny that Nelly Furtado is hugely talented and has potential, and this is reflected in her material.
The single also includes an Acoustic Version of Nelly's 2001's No.5 hit "I'm Like A Bird" and the amazing video of "Powerless (Say What You Want)".

This song is amazing! I've never really got into Nelly's sound- although i loved 'I'm like a Bird'-her latest single, Powerless, was good but not my kind of music, but 'Try' is everything that all the manufactured mush isn't. Nelly is truly original, and so is this song. Sure, it's about love, but it has a realistic take on it. The vocals are soulful, the music is unique and fits the song pefectly and the lyrics are breathtaking. I love the chorus especially - 'I see you standing there, wanting more from me, and all i can do is try' reflects what love's about.
I will definately recommend this song to anyone who is bored of hearing the usual same old, touched up 'music' from the singers and groups around today.
It's a real shame that this song didn't do all that well in the charts, is truly desrved to.

This second single from the album 'Folklore' was apparently written about the reality of love: it's not perfect! It's a curious power ballad with the chorus recurring just twice and an improvised ending. It starts oddly but once in full flow really shows off her amazing vocal talent. The song really grows on you so consider the album and not just this single.
