Every now and again, a CD comes into your life and you wonder how you managed without it. This is the category I would place "Whoever" into. Nine of the most beautiful acoustic recordings, fab artwork and lyrics that would grace any poetry book. One of the songs, "Wake me up" contains the lyrics "My souls asleep, so wake me up" and this is indicative of the strength and power of this recording. Martyn has recently been awarded the "Best male vocalist" in the Welsh Music awards, and not before time. A beautiful voice, a beautiful album.

This a lovely CD with some of Martyns most poetic songs on it. I've heard some complain that it is too short but, unlike many CD's around today, it doesn't have one bad song on it - just 9 pure gems.

That said, Martyn is much better live! By all means buy this but then go looking for him live somewhere - he's always on the road and just wants you to be there.
