Synopsis
WHEN BOYS FLY, which has been called a "gay REAL WORLD," is a documentary following four men as they travel to the 2000 Miami White Party, a gay "circuit" party. Todd, 21, is a biology student with a drug problem. Brandon, 23, loves his mother and doesn't do drugs. Todd, 35, is a veteran of the circuit and has a long trail of exes. Jon, 19, is Todd's latest flame. See what happens when these four very different men get together at the party of the century...and what goes down when the party's over!

This was one of the most boring DVDS I have ever seen.
One could only describe it as a group of lads with a video camera with very amature results.
I wo'nt be passing it onto friends.
Do'nt Waste your money on it.

A documentary about a group of friends heading of to a series of Gay circuit parties. Gives a good inside to gay hedonistic culture. The film makers, although not forcing their views on the audience, clearly think that there is such a thing as too many drugs, too much sex and too many partying and that the gay experience should be about much more than being off your head. And they do try to offer an alternative. If this is not a topic that you’re interested in, then you best avoid this movie. The extras, some of which catch up with the people in the movie two years later, are very satisfying and really add to the story.

If you like documentaries that don't really know what they are trying to show then you will love this. Otherwise you will find it rather disapointing.
You think at the begining that it is going to introduce the idea and experiance of big American gay parties but it never really manages that. Instead it stumbles from one talking head to another ocasionaly via a jumbled general sceen.
There are some insights into the participants lives but often these are not explored. Drug taking culture is fairly high on the agenda throughout but again is not explored very well if at all. One of the most telling comments is in the DVD extras when a psychologist is talking about depresion and one person fits all the 'symptoms'.
There is also one rather spectacular relationship break up!
All in all not really worth watching unless you are studying psychology or drug cultures!
