Product Description

Amazon.co.uk Review

Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson's hilarious remake of Starsky & Hutch recreates the vibe of the 70s television show so brilliantly it's no wonder the producers decided to stick with the real thing for the soundtrack. Hence there are no embarrassing contributions from Sugar Ray or OutKast--remember the unfortunate "Land of a Million Drums" from the Scooby Doo movie? But there is a great if slightly used roller-disco soundtrack courtesy of the Jackson Five ("Dancing Machine") and KC & the Sunshine Band ("That's the Way I Like It"), balanced out by marshmallow pop such as the Starland Vocal Band's "Afternoon Delight" and earnest country rock from Johnny Cash ("Folsom Prison Blues") and Waylon Jennings ("I'm a Ramblin' Man"). This is what the radio used to sound like before the robots took over. --Aidin Vaziri

3.0 out of 5 stars Somewhat disappointing, 27 Feb 2005
By A Customer
This review is from: Starsky & Hutch (Audio CD)
Two great tunes are missing: Barry Manilow's "Can't Smile Without You" from the opening scene, and Eric Clapton's "Cocaine" from the car chase. To strip out the lead song is very drastic, I dont understand how they dare. I really felt cheated. To keep the spirit from the movie going in the background, this CD is.. your only choise. 3 stars from me since there are still a lot of good songs left.

4.0 out of 5 stars Just short of great., 23 Mar 2004
This review is from: Starsky & Hutch (Audio CD)
Well, the actual new version of the S+H theme, during titles, is missing. The rest is just perfect, could have used the funky break just after Doby is shot. The Feel Like Makin' Love is there, as in movie - sung slightly differently though. Owen Wilson steals it for me with his rendition of Don't Give Up On Us - but only 1.09 minutes long. A few more tunes could have appeared on this which stops it making 5 stars.

not a bad disco style soundtrack not bad but there is better available, it just puts grin on my face thinking about the one liners and the acting whilst listening to the tunes
