Synopsis
Three features 'Black Angel', 'Score' and 'Gonin' which is set in an economically depressed part of Japan, Takashi Ishii's GONIN features five men, all down on their luck, who decide to band together for one spectacular heist. But when things don't go quite as planned, they have to defend themselves against the local Yakuza. Ishii's film, starring Japan's version of Clint Eastwood the always remarkable Beat Takeshi Kitano is a hip, almost operatic action movie that places emphasis on male bonding and shows the influence of filmmakers Sergio Leone and Sam Peckinpah.
