5.0 out of 5 stars A great summary of Tom's Sunday set at the Big Chill 2004, 10 Aug 2004
By J. Hill "padsbrother" (Manchester, UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I bought this album off the back of Tom Middleton's stint at the end of Mark Almond's set at the Big Chill this year. This CD contains some amazing lounge covers of some great tunes, and a few snippits of kid's TV classics from the 70's and 80's.
CD 1 is a fun mix of all kinds of everything, from the star-wars theme through a great remix of Roxanne and lounge covers Smooth Operator and Don't leave me this way. It's pretty eclectic but works!
CD 2 is a much more chilled affair and I can testify that it works extremely well when sitting with a glass of wine on a Sunday afternoon when the sun is shining!
Buy it and enjoy.

5.0 out of 5 stars What can I say...... well WOW, 1 April 2004
It was Sunday, Had a great house party the night before thus I had one of those hangover's from hell itself. Then I found my self-smiling, the CD they were playing in the shop was making my head nod. I bought it and have been listening all week; I have never heard anything like it, fantastic. The first CD is very strange mixing drum 'n' bass with jazz. The second is a very nice chill out album. Highly recommended.

3.0 out of 5 stars Hit and Miss, 6 Aug 2004
By "tintin00" - See all my reviews
(TOP 500 REVIEWER)
I bought this album after much deliberation and also due to the outstanding reviews posted.

It all started so well with the first four tracks being belters and a really cool way to start a CD, hey where else would you catch the Star Wars theme. I thought the CD contained a really diverse mix of tracks but thought it would sound good. And perhaps if the true licenses had been granted it may have done, but what you should be aware of is that most of the tracks on the first CD are covers. So where you are expecting to hear the original James Brown and Sex Machine you get a cheesy Ibizan House version. Read the same for most of the familiar titled tracks on the first CD. This is a bit of a let down for me, but if that is your tip then this could be a great CD for you. Unfortunately it all sounded a bit too cheesy to be cool.

Thats the Miss part of it out of the way, now heres the Hit part of it. The reason this CD has gained three stars is the chillout CD two which in my opinion is worth the money itself and a good job in my case. This CD also showcases how to properly do a cover version with the brilliant 'Knock on Wood'. The whole content of this second CD is chilled out and really cool.

So all in all I suppose this CD provides really two diverse mixes which I suppose is the intention, its just a shame the first CD crossed to much into the cheese section. The second CD pulled the points out of the bag and saved some face for Tom.
