Pet Shop Boys are back with the second single from last years Greatest Hits album - PopArt. The album contained 33 top 20 singles and two new songs. The first one - Miracles was released in November, and became their 34th hit, reaching #10 on the UK sales chart in it's first week.
This song is far better. In fact, it's their best single in 10 years. Following the electro-clash trend the band, who got it all started almost 20 years ago, have created a somewhat quirky chorus that sticks like glue. Expect it to be massive.

The catchier of the two new songs on PopArt anyway, 'Flamboyant' has been given a thumping single remix to make it even more insanely brilliant; if it is not massive, something is seriously wrong. The single mix is backed with new song 'I didn't get where I am today', left over from the Release sessions, and remixes from the amusingly trendy Scissor Sisters and DJ Hell, as well as an extended mix by Tomcraft, who had a number one last year with 'Loneliness' and who mixed the original version. Recommended to anyone and everyone, particularly those who don't hate the Pet Shop Boys much.

After a mediocre chart position but excellent overall sales of 2003's definitive 'PopArt' collection this is the final track to be released from the album before they go back into the studio for a new 2005 release and possible tour.

Flamboyant is by far the most addictive out of the 2 new tracks on 'PopArt' and should enjoy a healthy chart position much like its predecessor 'Miracles' peaking at No.10.

Outlining yet again that they are still ahead of their time 'Flamboyant's advanced electro sounds made clearer by Tomcraft's production oozing style and providing us with a catchy and addictive chorus line.

Added value are the remixes and bous tracks in line with Pet Shop Boys tradition which should rip the dance charts up and throw the pretenders towards the 'dumper'

Good to see them back again and its got to be a good inclination of their intentions for future releases to return to dance and electro which they chose to depart from with the 'Release' album after the fantastic 'NightLife' album.

If only all bands were so clever...............................
