From watching the 2nd series on TV..., 17 Aug 2004
The episodes very much match the excellence from the first series and conclude the story very well. The actual scenarios assigned to red troop of the SAS are just as interesting as the original. Especially the very first of the series which consists of a covert operation authored by intelligence without the knowledge that the perpetrators are in fact French army. This leads to confusion and a huge mistake which results with two men down, one of which very sadly a fatality, and a trial in court resulting in another tragedy. All of the episodes to follow are as stated very interesting, also especially the last episode of the series when one character who you would least expect is caught right in the middle of a crisis which requires the rest of red troop to resolve bringing a very satisfying & extremely entertaining end to the show. The second series also resumes the back stories superbly. Henno & Pete are allowed back into the regiment after the last episode of the first series, Jamies is forced to confront his violent father after discovering evidence of child abuse from his little brother and the romance between Jamie & Alex escalates to the next level as Henno takes a very strong resistant view upon never mind a dim one. All in all, it is very much perfect, flawless. Of course as the DVD is yet to be released none of us can comment on any special features the discs might hold. Hopefully we'll be treated as before with a behind the scenes documentary applied to the second series, and also maybe a few interviews of the cast & crew giving their thoughts on the series and the show as a whole. We will see. At the very least, I hope ITV/CARLTON do in fact release this DVD.
