Great album with some excellent tracks. They have a great sound that I have never heard before, very pure and unique. Good stuff!

Desolation Angels were pioneers of the real Manchester alternative scene around '98 - 2004. Whereas the majority of the city was focusing on the leftovers of the Oasis-influenced boys, the DA's were networking with the gay and feminist underground music scene of the City and through community spirit and the most beautiful and often political songs crafted by this mostly-female collective, they were loved and loathed in equal measure, a true sign of a band doing something important.

Unfortunately, the Angels split up not long after "Asylum", this their only album, but their legacy remains. This album has the feel of subtle revolution - dark, beautiful and eerie well crafted songs, sounding like nothing else the City had, or indeed still has to offer. Political and personal, hard yet pretty, inspiring and introspective, I can't recommend it enough.
