Product Description
Product Description
Dead Man's Hand is a first-person shooter packed full of gun fights and dripping in frontier lore. In Dead Man's Hand, players will step into the boots of El Tejón, a master gunslinger riding with one of the roughest gangs in the West, known as The Nine. When the ruthless leader of The Nine betrays El Tejón, El Tejón turns to a life of vengeance, vowing to put every member of his former gang six-feet under.

Besides straight shooting, Dead Man's Hand incorporates unique gameplay elements taken from the Old West. Gamers will try their hands at blasting desperados from the back of their trusty steed and shooting it out on a moving train, ducking just before going through tunnels. In addition, as the game progresses, players will acquire "Legend" a unique scoring system that awards points as the player blazes a path into Western folklore.

I bought this for the youngster earlier this year and paid a tenner for it and he tells me it's OK.

Not the best game he has, but not the worst either.

Well worth the tenner and at that it was a good buy, but it is hard to say if we'd have paid much more.

A good addition to your collection if you can get it at a good price.

1.0 out of 5 stars Pretty bad stuff!, 10 May 2004

I wouldn't class myself as a games buff but this game was the biggest waste of money i have ever seen. It's so cheesy and all the levels are the same, its not challenging whats so ever and just seems so rushed. I read reviews which told me the same but i thought i might enjoy it any way; i was wrong! If you like western themed games i would definately wait for Red Dead Revolver which is realeased late May which looks pretty good.

4.0 out of 5 stars ...hoping for more..., 27 Oct 2004
When I heard about a western first person shoot-em up, I was thrilled. I had waited a long time for something like this to turn up, but was a little disappointed with the results. Don't get me wrong, the game isn't bad, it's just not quite as good as I had hoped.

Firstly, on normal, the game seems far too easy and the levels seem really short.

Another fault is that the game doesn't run quite as smoothly as some of the other choices, like Halo and Castle Wolfenstein, and at times the movement seems a little bit too old school for a modern day game.

However, in saying all this, the game itself is quite entertaining, especially when you shoot off people's hats (I don't know why, but I found this particularly amusing).
If you're not sure whether you would like this kind of game, don't bother is my opinion, but if you do like the old western theme, then this may be worth a look.
