Product Description

Amazon.co.uk Review

Not many artists can boast a Best Of album by their 21st birthday, but then not everybody logs a Lolita-ish hit at age 13, as the precocious Leann Rimes did with the retro "Blue" in 1996. In many ways, that auspicious debut was her finest hour, full of hypnotic, yodel-laced magic and savant-like promise. Since then, she's recorded a fair amount of bankable pop ("One Way Ticket", "Can't Fight the Moonlight") and a seemingly bottomless well of tripe ("You Light Up My Life", "Written in the Stars" with Elton John). It all sits back-to-back on this collection of familiar tunes, braced with new audio recordings: "This Love" and "Last Thing on My Mind". Alas, of the new songs, they point up the weakness of much of Rimes' career; her connect-the-dots emotionality. Best advice: put the player on "repeat" and enjoy the royal "Blue" treat that got this career rolling, before the aerobicised videos and the embarrassing lawsuit. --Alanna Nash

CD Description

First best-of collection for one of the biggest-selling artists in the world. Includes all her biggest hits, from the traditional country of her debut single 'Blue' right up to the mainstream pop of the number one smash 'Can't Fight The Moonlight' and the triple platinum 'How Do I Live'. Also includes two new tracks: the single 'This Love' and the Ronan Keating duet 'Last Thing On My Mind'.

5.0 out of 5 stars Can't stop listening to this !, 24 Feb 2004
I totally love this album, I can listen to it over nad over again without gettting bored of it. Although I liked Leann's songs before I'd never bought an album dont know why really, but this is really worthwhile buying. It is one of my favourites in my CD collection, its got a great mix of great songs, I adore the duet with Ronan and her new song This love. Songs I hadnt heard before like 'right kind of wrong' are now among my favourite songs. This is a really enjoyable album, buy it and see, you wont regret it.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Remarkable Career on one Album, 14 Feb 2004
At 21 it seems to soon to release a best of album but LeAnn Rimes has been recording since age 13. You can't really tell that she was a young teenager when some of these songs were recorded, even then her voice could compete with the vocals of Christina Aguilera or Beyonce Knowles.

The first song on the album "Can't Fight The Moonlight" was a fantastic pop song from the "Coyote Ugly" soundtrack and a UK number one, the song has a great vibe and some brilliant vocals. The song was on LeAnn's first pop album "I Need You" with the title tracck featured on this album, it's a ballad displaying a strong talent. Also from the Coyote Ugly soundtrack are the brilliant "The Right Kind of Wrong" and "But I Do Love You" which you will love. The amazing ballad "How Do I Live" which was her biggest selling single ever and the best selling country single of all time, it sold 750 000 in the UK alone and reached number 7, the song is breathtaking and the vocals are just fantastic. New single "This Love" is wonderful and shows that LeAnn Rimes is still one of the most talented vocalists even today. The duet with Ronan Keaton is spoilt by Ronan, i'm not a fan of his singing but if you like his voice then you would like it because it is a good song. Elton John also duets with her on the ballad "Written in The Stars" which i love as it is a wonderful song and both artists put in strong vocal effort. The theme song to "Legally Blonde 2", "We Can" is fantastic, the song is incredibly catchy and vocally stunning, it's a strong competitor with "Can't Fight The Moonlight", two very brilliant songs. LeAnn's cover of the Patsy Cline classic "Crazy" is a definate improvement of the original, the vocals of LeAnn Rimes are much stronger than those of Patsy Cline and make the song much better, i love the song and think it is one of LeAnn Rime's best recordings. The two remixes of "How Do I Live" and "Can't fight the Moonlight" are a bit of a waste. i often can't be bothered with remixes so i usually don't listen to them.

This album marks an excellent career from a truly amazing vocalist, a real gift to country music.
