Produced by emo veteranJames Wisner (Dashboard Confessional, Further Seems Forever) and mixed by Andy Sneap (Killswitch Engage, Arch Enemy), the album's hardhitting sound is more consistent and emotional than their debut and looks set to propel them to the frontof the burgeoning "screamo" movement.

I have been a fan of metal and some emo stuff over recent years with favourites like Deftones, Poison the Well, At the drive-in etc but was always looking for something which combines all the best features of the rock/metal/emo/punk scenes. With A Snow Capped Romance, 36 Crazyfists hit the spot. Intensely heavy riffs, huge bassy power chords, searing screams from Brock, and above all, an indismissable sense of emotion and angst within the music. I love heavy music but it always has to have an x factor for me which is that it must convey real feelings. For example, I prefer this type of metal to say, Killswitch Engage. A great band at what they do, but lacking a certain amount of emotion for my tastes.

Anyway, back to this album. There are no weak moments for me, with every track showing originality and creativity. My favourites are probably "The Heart and the Shape", "Bloodwork", "Skin and atmosphere", "Destroy the Map" and the apocalyptic final track "Waterhaul". Waterhaul is something very special but I just wish it went on for a bit longer.

Buy this album, and get their earlier one "Bitterness the Star" too which is also great although in my opinion not quite as good as this one. I think they have another one on the way soon aswell so bring it on 36CF.

Whenver I get a CD it usually takes me a while to get into it, maybe listening to it quite a few times before I fully appreciate the songs. So when I first got this I played it through and thought it was just okay, but then after a few more listens, and over the next 2 weeks after I got it I began to love it so much! Its now been quite some months since it came out (was it may or something) and I still love it and listen to it all the time. It is a superb alubm, every song is jam packed with amazing uber-goodness! A lot of people are mentioning "bloodwork" in their reviews, and although it is a super song, its probably my least favourite on the album, and its still great, so that says something about the rest of the album! It is in short, the best album I have ever had the pleasure of hearing. Also make sure you go see them play live, it is excellent! They really kick ass up there on stage, and they certainly get the crowd going! Watch out for Brock's crazy + frequent crowd invasions. Go buy this album now! Buy Bitterness too! Then find when they are next playing near you and go and see them! Go go go! ;)

All I can say is...this is amazing. nothing else can describe this masterpiece. it is shear brilliance. every song, even Song for the Fisherman, is so well made and so well put together.

best songs on the album are At the end of August, Bloodwork, Destroy the Map and Installing the Catheter.

Already lookin forward to the next 36 CF release.

BUY THIS ALBUM!!!
