I really have noticed that duracell 9 volt batteries last longer and provide more of a shock to my tounge than most 9 volt batteries. They are also hardwearing, not that this is particularly important for a battery, but there are some cheap ones that break basically from falling on the floor! These batteries managed to power a range of electrical appliances in my house, and that is all I`m asking of them. Let`s face it: batteries are basic, and with these ones perfection is almost there. The only reason I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 was because they are not rechargable - simple as that. Mind you, I wouldn`t spent too much effort trying to buy these online - most good convenience stores stock these, and deffinatley all hardwear shops, so if I were you, I would just get out there and get them by hand.

The batteries are Duracell and appear as good as most and better than many.

However beware, I recently bought these with an advanced cat repeller and failed to notice that I had asked for the fast delivery method (2-3 days!). The result was a payment of �3.99 for the batteries and �6.99 for delivery.

Unfortunately on their "Order approval" page Amazon give you a breakdown of the goods you are buying but only include a global total for carriage; thus, as the batteries were being sourced from a different supplier than the Cat Repeller, the true costs were only revealed AFTER the purchase in the e-mail confirmation.

Even more unfortunately a request to cancel the battery order (issued within 10 mins of placing) was ignored - even though the order was not processed until the next day by MDS Battery Ltd.

Just as unfortunately Amazon do not seem remotely interested in correcting the misleading way in which they present the information for pre-order approval!

I have to cqnfess disappointment with the batteries purchased to power my Big Cheese cat repeller.They only lasted about 4 weeks,after which I used a couple of Tesco Value batteries which are of the old fashioned Zink Chloride type and whilst I only expected them to last a week or two at best, they actually have lasted about 6 weeks.I have sinced purchased even more of the cheap ones and have assumed that the first set of Duracell batteries were old stock because I have never before had a problem with that make.
