Synopsis
When Francesco's Aunt Anita dies she leaves him an inheritance, he travels to Istanbul to find out what he has been left. Upon his arrival he discovers a Hamam - a Turkish Bath, he promptly falls in love with the city and decides to stay and make a success of the Hamam.

Great movie about Turkey and their culture.From a turkish director, Ferzan Ozpetek whose movies I have seen and found wonderful and different, it is about an Italian man coming to Istanbul for his aunt's death but when he discovers the country and their culture. He falls in love with all this and you see the end yourself it is better.
Different movie apart from today's same kind of movies.
I advise to everybody.

An almost magical film which you will love if you have ever been to Turkey. It reminds us too, when we get obsessed with trying to be successful in our careers, that there are more important things in life - basic values. It also shows what a hold a place can have over you, how it can get into your soul.... The soundtrack is great on those lonely, sentimental evenings accompanied with a bottle of wine....

What a good film. An Itlaian made film but set in Istanbul and essentially a Turkish film. It explores what happens when someone unexpectedly falls in love with a City, and a way of life. Aiming to sell an inherited, and closed down, turkish bath, the main character falls in love with old, and threatened, Istanbul, and discovers and is moved by the memories of his aunt who herself escaped and found herself in Istanbul, and left him the building.

The film has some unexpected twists and turns, some stunning scenary and excellent acting.

Well woth seeing.
