Britain's Premier Pop Star Releases the 2003 Anthem, 29 Nov 2003
2003 has been a year when peace has been a word which everyone in the world wants to hear. It doesn't matter where one comes from its the main word for the future. This applies to millions of children who have no idea what shape there lives will take and just want some glimmer of hope, well this song Santa's List provides just that. It gives every person of every age the chance to look forward to some kind of hope and the possibity of a peaceful world.Chris Eaton has excelled himself once again and provided us with another peace anthem. For those who don't remember Chris wrote Cliff's 1990 No1 Saviours Day. The words and music are full of pure quality and keep you gripped from the moment you hear the introduction come at you. The whole song is very ear catching and really does make you stop and think about other people, especially those children who are less fortunate. In a year which has seen Iraq and Turkey suffering great losses, This song gives all people a glimmer of hope and peace. Cliff is by no means trying to set the world to rights with this song, but offering a Christmas Song which is full of deep meaning and a song which really is the Anthem of 2003. Cliff always gives his listeners songs which go into the true meaning of Christmas and which provide very good seasonal listening. Santa's List is another fine effort by Sir Cliff Richard OBE, who has these UK Chart records: 126 singles, 64 Top Ten Hits, No1s in 5 Decades,Longest Span of No1s by a British Artist 40 years from Living Doll in 1959 to The Millennium Prayer in 1999 and above all the only British Artist to have charted for 45 years since Move It in 1958. You know what quality to expect. It's a sure record to be No1 this Christmas and to give Cliff his new UK chart record. He is the best and Santa's List proves it in a big way. "Let Me Tell You People It's Called Rock n Roll"

Yet another perfect song from Sir Cliff, 26 Nov 2003
This is a beautiful song, which has never been recorded before and is not what you would expect. Its a very strong song that will no doubt catch your attention, it simply demands to be heard.Cliff once again reminds us in this song what is really important at Christmas, which is shown in this verse, "The only wish on Santa's list, is that one day there will be, peace on this earth". So as you might imagine, the recording is primarily a peace song, but its a peace song with punch. Although this song does have a strong meaning, it is also a lovely song to listen to and has a lovely Christmas feel to it, similar to that of Saviours day. A truly wonderful record that really deserves to be heard, and most definately deserves to make it to number 1 this Christmas. I think with all the death the world has seen in 2003, this song is something everyone should listen to and start to really think about the death, starvation and fear there is in the world, and then people will realise that this song contains within it....a message to us all, that if we all do our bit, however small...."one day there will be peace on this earth"

A great Christmas song!, 19 Dec 2007
Here is a small set of songs from Britain's greatest hitmaker. The big hit here is "Santa's List." The name suggests it might be a corny kid's song, but such is not the case. It's a very well written song. The music is VERY good, listenable and enjoyable. Not your usual Christmas song. The lyrics also have a good message. All in all, a great song. Should've made it in the US.
The other songs are also good listening. "Mary's Boy Child" might be familiar. This version is very good. The final song, "It's a Boy" is OK, nothing outstanding, but still listenable.
I don't care much for the video--I just don't care for videos at all, but others may like it.
It's surprising that Sir Cliff has never really made it in the US, especially when he can still put out such good songs. Get this one and add it to your Christmas collection. You'll be glad you did.
