Product Description

Manufacturer's Description

Turn your PC into the ultimate jukebox: Listen to, convert, organize and quickly burn audio and MP3s onto CDs and DVDs, or upload them to a portable MP3 player with myMP3PRO. Created by Steinberg, a world leader in professional audio products, myMP3PRO couples high-end features with high-quality results at an unbeatable price.

Burn music to DVD and play them back on your set top DVD player: MyMP3PRO is the first jukebox software application to include the ability to burn MP3s onto DVDs that can play be played back on your living room DVD player. Create DVD menus to help find and play your favourite songs, or simply use the medium to archive your entire music collection. The interface, in addition to being intuitive and easy to use, is totally customizable. Pick and chose from a list of included skins or create your own.

Edit, mix, and add real-time effects to your MP3s:Edit songs with copy, cut, and paste simplicity, and then enhance them further with myMP3PRO's high-quality effects algorithms. Sweeten your music with the built-in eight-band equalizer, match audio levels with the compression utility, and then push it over the top with the loudness maximizer. Edit directly on MP3 files without the prior conversion, and easily drop in fade ins, fade outs and cross fades. Mixmasters take note. MyMP3PRO includes DJ-style audio FX such as a 3-band filter EQ with kill switches for each band, a phaser, flanger, delay, chopper/gater, a resonance filter and a BPM counter to match tempo and create professional dance mixes.

Organize your song library and share it over a home network:The software's new intelligent database makes it extremely easy to organize all music files on your PC. These files can be recorded or downloaded from practically any audio source including; Internet radio, CD, LP, Cassette, and MP3. The software can convert any audio file into an MP3 and upload it to your MP3 player. Even better, share your entire music library over your personal home network. MyMP3PRO's networking infrastructure streams music to any other computer that's hooked up to the network.

2.0 out of 5 stars MP3Pro Con, 24 Jan 2004

I bought this product for its MP3Pro support (after all, it is called myMP3 Pro), only to discover after installation that you can only convert a maximum of 20 tracks to MP3Pro format. After that you have to purchase an upgrade! What a rip-off!

For unlimited MP3Pro support, do yourself a favour and get MAGIX MP3 Maker Platinum instead - it's cheaper than myMP3 Pro as well!

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't touch this with a barge-pole!, 14 May 2004

On installing this on my home PC running Win98SE it caused the system not to re-boot any more and I had to re-load Windows. Even after that, the program is so full of bugs and glitches, it makes it almost unuseable. Pinnacle's support is not worth having - no updates on the web, no responses in the forums etc.
I now use Roxio Audio Central, part of Easy CD & DVD Creator - a far superior bit of kit. Shame, because v4 was not bad and Steinberg support was OK.

1.0 out of 5 stars MyMP3Pro - You are kidding right?, 21 Mar 2004

Ok first problem with this software (version 5) is that after installing, it wont work under XP unless you run it in Win98/ME compatability mode. Second Problem, whenyou finally get it running it has a habit of messing up soundcard drivers to such an extent that you'll need to reinstall those drivers. Third problem, because you are running the software in compatibility mode trying to use the help files crashes the help system. Fourth problem, organise your MP3's how ever you want, so long as that doesnt involve using sub-folders on disc's.

Not untill I found all these problems did i realise the "awards" listed on the box are for previous versions (I wonder why).

To summarise, this is frisbee software (its only good for throwing)
