So for your bands tenth studio album you, have to come up with something pretty special. Fortunatly over the rhine have created an album of beauty, both lyrically and musically. Better than that, the album is a double album. quite how they managed to get that byt the record company people I will never work out.
Disc one seems to flow effortlessly form one song to another, with B.D.P. setting the bar very high. The album lives up to this standard with "ohio" and "suitcase" being standout tracks.
Disc two has some very special songs on it. Particularly "She" and "Bothered" consistantly blow me away.

buy this album, you deserve it.

As Amazon haven't got one, I bought my copy of this double CD 'OHIO' through the 'Over The Rhine' website. Having only just caught up with this band, I have quickly become a true fanatic for their lyrics and music. These Americana singer songwriters rank with the very best and this CD provides a wealth of fine songs that make you listen and listen and listen..... My collection of their work is growing larger and larger, all their recordings sit well with the very best LP's from the best singer songwriters that I have bought through the sixties to the current day. Think I might buy 'Drunkards Prayer' from Amazon right now........It will not be long before I have every OTR albumn they have made!
