Always one for a remix, Madonna follows the AMERICAN LIFE album with an EP that includes alternate mixes of four album tracks. "Nothing Fails (Nevins Mix)" glides along on an acoustic guitar line and skittering, distorted beats, while 1980s revisionists Mount Sims take on "Nobody Knows Me" with a dirty keyboard/vocoder barrage. Finally the Headcleanr rock mixes of "Love Profusion" and "American Life" are energetic, guitar-heavy versions of the originals.
Also included on REMIXED & REVISITED is a live recording of the Material Girl's show-stopping 2003 MTV Video Music Awards performance of her "Like a Virgin" and "Hollywood" medley, featuring the additional diva trinity of Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears,and Missy Elliott. On "Into the Hollywood Groove", Missy pops by again for a studio fusion of Madonna's "Into the Groove" and the aforementioned "Hollywood". Topping everything off is the previously unreleased "You Honesty", a buoyant, funky track from the BEDTIME STORIES sessions.

I LOVE this remix cd.
The mixes are not what you would expect, and I like that.
They are new, unexpected, but maintain the integrity of the original tracks.

Nothing Fails - one of American Lifes stand-out trax a beautiful ballad, has been sped up slightly, given some beats, made to sound a little 'harder', and had the choir removed by supremo DJ/Remix Jason Nevins. Its a new version, and one I now prefer to the original.

Love Profusion - This should have been American Lifes first single (though it is the current one for Christmas). Its such a beautiful track, Madonnas strongest single of A/Life without a doubt. This remix however, has turned it into a rock track!!! And it REALLY works!!! Unexpected and keeps the beauty of the original.

Nobody Knows Me - AL's dance track.. This has been given a retro, electro remix, and its great. Harder than the original, with some more subtle vocal effects.

American Life - One of those you either like or hate tracks, people divided in opinion because of the rap. Understood... however this rocks!!! Its more Metallica than Madonna - I kid you not!!! A metal mix??? And you would think that the rap would have been removed? Well you'd be wrong. It forms the basis of the mix!!! And the 'Headcleaners' have made it sound cool!!! (Honest!) Typical of Madonna - you didnt like my rap - well here it is, double fold!!!

Like a Virgin / Hollywood (live) - The classic and controversial performance from this years MTV awards, with Christina, Britney and Missy all performing, mixing Like A Virgin with the Jacque Le Cont remix of Hollywood (excellent remix), and also Missy's 'Work it'. Brilliant!!!

Into the Hollywood Groove - the 2nd of Missy's appearances on this cd, this is the 87 remix of Into the Groove (though resung in parts), mixed with resung parts of Hollywood, and also the Missy rap from the Gap jeans. If it works, ya better work it!!! and it does...

Your Honesty - An unreleased track from Madonna's Bedtime Stories album sessions. And in my opinion, its better than half the tracks on that original album. Beautiful vocals, though the song is slightly marred by a poor lyric (i can make love to your voice).

This is a must for lovers of Madonnas much overlooked American Life album (though it was a No1), and essential to any Madonna fans collection. This is what remixes should do - bring something completely new but without ruining the original song!

Kudos to ALL involved!!!

After a not so succesful last album, "American Life" (which is actually really, really good, just terribly underestimated! Go shop..), Madonna releases "Remixed & Revisited", a sequel to not only the above-mentioned June-album, but a sequel to months of provocation.
The first track of R&R is a remix of Madonna's third single from American Life, Nothing Fails. Originally, Nothing Fails is a very emotional, slow song that carries sounds last heard in Madonna's eighties-hit Like a Prayer. The new version's got cool sounds and a bit of a tempo. Well done.
The second track, Love Profusion, is a breath-taking declaration of love to either Guy Ritchie, Madonna's husband, or her two children Lourdes and Rocco. The new rocky sound of the track fits it well and doesn't ruin it, like remixes of slow songs often do. The original track has been used commercially as well.
Nobody Knows Me, the third track of R&R, is the track with the provocative sounds and lyrics. The original version takes time to get used to, but this remix is actually a bit softer.
To finish off the parade of songs from the American Life album, Madonna's fourth track on R&R is American Life - the first single from the last album. A bit of a controversy surrounded the song, whilst Madonna made an anti-war video to the track. She pulled the video back and made an embarrassing second hand video that actually destroyed the meaning of the song a bit. The song is fabulous though and the remix is alright. Try the real thing though..
After Madonna had french-kissed first Britney Spears and then Christina Aguilera in front of the whole world, she chose to put the medley of Hollywood and Like a Virgin on R&R as the fifth track. This song is so cool. Spears and Aguilera perform a special version of Like a Virgin in their entirely own ways before Madonna breaks in (to the sound of wedding music) and gets the party started with a special version of Hollywood from the American Life album. It's so immaculately beautiful! Missy Elliot finishes off with a rap and the four divas sing "push the button, don't push the button.." together.
The sixth track Into the Hollywood Groove is a collaboration with Missy Elliot that was used for a campaign for Gap Clothing. It's sort of the street style and totally awesome. You'll memorize it in no-time!
Your Honesty, the seventh track of R&R, is a previously unrealesed track that Madonna made for her ninties-album Bedtime Stories. It follows the style of Bedtime Stories, but like the other tracks of that album, it's more than suitable for today's ghettoblasters! Beautiful song, incredible lyrics.
Madonna is still the best and this album is definately worth buying. And she doesn't look to bad on the cover either..

This album I think gives more energetic and life to the majority of tracks of the album "American Life". The remix of the track "American Life", a rock version is in fact real good.
Madonna nows how to work music and realizes that the album did not make great in the charts, but this could be very good.
Some of the tracks went on from one stage to an better one.
Madonna without a doubt is the Queen of Pop, and the future is her's.
POP LIVES ON!
