ByteStor HS cards have been designed for high (3M+) mega-pixel cameras or devices where a high write speed in required.
Standard CompactFlash has a write speed of 600KB/x (4X) to 1.2MB/s (8X). ByteStor HS cards have a write speed of 6.1MB/s (40X).
A digital camera has a cycle time. This is the time it takes to save the picture, before the next shot can be taken. With a higher speed card this time is shorter, therefore the user has less time to wait between shots. This is crucial in a fast moving environment such as sport.
ByteStor HS will work in any CompactFlash compliant devices.

Shoot more pictures on holiday where downloading may be impractical. (If your memory card becomes full on holiday, you cannot re-use the card without downloading the current images first). Capture more hi-resolution images. (Taking pictures on the highest setting will give you the option for larger prints compared to the normal or basic setting). Take more multiple shots and select the best ones when practical. (It can sometimes be difficult and time consuming to delete unwanted shots from your camera on the move). Spreading images across two or more cards in case a card is lost on holiday. Carry a wider selection of music (at higher quality) for your MP3 player. Store more data and backup important files on your PDA.
