A great buy, 15 Dec 2003
I was a little apprehensive of buying this DVD, having not liked Moby in his pre-Play era and only having seen a few snippets of his Glastonbury gig, but I was rewarded well for risking purchasing it.The Live section is, to say the least, fantastic. It features the whole gig, including little impromtu bits, and features the majority of his bigger songs. It ends fantastically, with a great cover of Radiohead's festival favourite "Creep", which is utterly awe-inspiring and a great cover. However, I feel that the Live section was missing one big song - Extreme Ways, which I think would have been great live. The Moby TV section is great as well, featuring Moby being himself and quite funny, although possibly the funniest sketch in the "TV" section is the Oranges one. A good addition is the full selection of the "18" music videos, which are interspersed with the Moby TV section. The 18 Outtakes are on a seperate Audio CD which is very useful for listening in the car or on the train. As you would expect, the outtakes are good but not quite to the same quality as the 18 Album. The Moby Megamix is available on the DVD only, and so youb can't play this in the car or on the train which I think is a shame. Overall a very good DVD and Audio CD combination but lacking in a few key areas.

Gimme those Moby live cuts!, 30 Dec 2003
How bizarre that the DVD comes as a bonus to the CD, rather than the other way round, but who cares, because this package is great. The B-sides vary from new cuts to demos to rejects. A number of these tracks lack the kick and edge of the grade A tracks on the bonafide albums. Having said that, it's great that Moby and crew are happy to share all this extra stuff with us, because there are some real gems here. Even more songs described as "outtakes and bonus songs" reside on the DVD, and that's also where the real action is, hours and hours of stuff. It's the live cuts on the DVD that I think makes this set so irresistible. These Moby cuts carry the magic and fire that often shines through live sets recorded at the Glastonbury festival. Here the band stretches out and storms through sixteen songs that mostly cover the "play" and "18" material but also includes the classic oldies GO and FEELING SO REAL. Also to be enjoyed are the "18" videos, complete with friendly and miniature alien life forms. As a carry on from the Play DVD, you'll find some more bizarre home videos that feature the talking fish as well as Moby acting out yet more strange and eccentric characters (or perhaps they're alter egos). The megamixes are worth checking out as well. What a Moby feast.

WARNING! THE 18 B-SIDES CD MAY HAVE ROOTKIT!!, 14 Jun 2007
Being a fanatic of Downtempo / Chillout / Ambient Electronica genre, I'm always a big, big fan of Moby since the song 'Porcelain' on the album Play. I also love the song 'Whispering Wind', which is featured on the album Cafe del Mar Volumen Siete.
But Ambient is not the only thing Moby is excellent in; anyone remember the song 'Bodyrock'? Or how about Moby's rendition of 'James Bond Theme Song'?
But enough of my Moby fanboyism. See, the reason I buy this album is a particular song that I really love so much; a song that I can't help but keep playing and playing over and over again since the first time I heard it in the year 2002.
The song's title is 'Landing'. Look, I don't care what the critics say; in my opinion, 'Landing' is the greatest Moby's masterpiece ever, as well as the best Electronica tune I've ever heard. By the way, the song is also featured in the movie 'Triple X' (starring Vin Diesel).
I already have Triple X soundtrack album, simply because of the song 'Landing'. I could care less about Rammstein or other rock bands on that album --it's simply about 'Landing'. Still, the fact that the album put the song among other songs whose genre I don't like just put me in impartial mood somewhat.
Imagine my excitement when buying Moby 18 Plus B Sides. Not only they put the song 'Landing' on the first track, but all remaining songs also belong to the same genre --hey, it is a Moby album!
But when I tried to play the CD on my computer.... Ah, suffice to say that the B-Sides CD is not a CD audio at all. Instead, it is a DRM-protected music CD, which may install malicious rootkit on your computer.
Ah, what a love and hate combination; I love Moby, but I hate DRM. Moby, stop protecting your albums with the disgusting DRM. People who buy them are your devoted fans anyway; they will keep buying your CD anyway even when we already have the MP3 --myself is merely an example. Moreover, we also buy your CD for collection. It is a really bad thing when the CDs are protected by whatever disgusting method invented by those record label corporate vampires.
