Emma's first solo album "A Girl Like Me" was a good pop record but it lacked that special thing that could differentiate her from all the endless list of MOR pop/rock female artists, like Kym Marsh, Appleton and all the others... Then her last single "Free Me" arrived, with its bond-esque strings and deliciously retro feel, and hopes were high that Emma had found her way and her identity. Now, with the release of "Maybe", it seems Emma is definitely back for good.

"Maybe" is the second single from Emma's forthcoming album "Simply Me", and finds her turning the clock back to the 60's! The song is catchy as hell, the production is minimalistic yet incredibly good, and the amazing video fits the song perfectly. Emma is now in a league of her own, and could well end up as the most successful solo Spice, which wasn't quite what many expected.

In the recent months that Emma Bunton resurfaced on the covers of many British glamour magazines, very little attention was paid to the music she was promoting. And with good reason. "Free Me" was a terrible choice for a single, a lavishly dull piece that really didn't suit her vocal range, but "Maybe" more than makes up for its predecessor. Miles better than "Free Me," "Maybe" features marvelous string arrangements with a rather campy 1960's retro feel. This is one of those tunes that has one of the oddest hooks but that is what makes it appealing and memorable. Definitely a keeper.

LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!!! It has a great sixties vibe to it. this video is snazzy, funny and stylish. the song is catchy and i havent been able to get it out of my head for the last 3 days. part of it sounds like nelly and kellys dilemma- by who cares. its great pop, and who cares if you hate pop, you'll still love this
