The device is extremely easy to use as no drivers are required. Just plug it in and drag and drop music and data files between the Creative Rhomba and any PC. It stores photos, documents and other data files too. The 256 MB Rhomba has enough storage space to hold up to 176 floppy discs' worth of documents, pictures and other files--never use your floppy drive again.

The built-in Li-Ion battery provides up to 14 hours of continuous playtime and recharges via the USB port on a home PC. Slip this small, super lightweight player into your pocket and be entertained wherever you go.

Initial impressions of the Creative Rhomba:

- sleek design, lightweight
- excellent sound (goes very loud), good quality earphones
- enough memory for 80-100 tracks in WMA format - better than MP3 - recorded at 64 kbps (no info on this in manual); quality is decent even at 64 kbps, 128 kbps preferable but uses too much memory

- poor manual / instructions. Spent quite some time reading the manual and there's no mention of ID tags and how to use properly (note: Gracenote CDDB­® Registration needed). I finally worked out how to use it properly after some hours, but surely it's not asking too much for the developers to document the software in a straightforward manner? It's not hard to state that you need to register with Gracenote first, then create Playlists, then transfer tracks/files to the player...
- neck strap doesn't look too stable; no instructions on how to fit it to player
- FM radio: record function is in mono, not stereo (not stated in advertising blurb)

- agree with other reviewer about the battery - what happens when you're travelling and don't have access to a PC/laptop for recharging via the USB port? Wonder if it's possible to buy an adapter to recharge via the mains.
- nice-to-have: arm-band for jogging & expandable memory

All in all a decent buy for the price with a few minor niggles.

After searching for the ultimate performance and sleek looking MP3 player the Creative Labs Rhomba is the one! Taken me several weeks of research of whats out there and for what price. Its ideal weight and size and perfect for what I wanted it for - to use at the gym mainly running. You certainly get your value for money with 256MB, FM radio and crisp sound. Software takes a little while to get used to but once installed its relatively easy to use. I'm very impressed. Would definitely recommend.

Brilliant, simply brilliant....
Although the mp3 player is plastic and not metal,as it may appear to be on the picture, the build quality of the machine is suprisingly good, considering it is plastic that is. It is very easy to use and has more useful functions that you would expect from a player of this price, such as a wide range of repeat functions (including "repeat folder" function). It has small features that are too small to mention in the online description but are still very nice to have, such as the "Equalizer" and the "Visualiser" (this enables you to select how the music levels are displayed). I have had it for good few weeks now and i'm STILL listening to it constantly, EVEN when I'm in the house and could just actually play the music!!!! It takes less than 15 minutes to charge up. Although the radio on it doesnt have the strongest reception, it is still good enough to listen to a wide enough range of stations (besides,the recption in my area isn't very good anyway, so this could be to blame!). The ONLY downside i've found is that it is a bit fiddely to change the play order of the tracks if you only have Windows '98 :-( But this is the ONLY downside and i've thought long and hard about this review (as you might of guessed) and it really and truely is THE ONLY BAD POINT!!!!!!!!!!!! Very good machine, thoroughly satisfied with it
